I saw this tag done by Anna @ My Bookish Dream and loved it!! So of course I decided to do it! Because why not?
Basically this tag is a bunch of rapid-fire questions to answer, mostly about bookish preferences. Let’s get started!!
EBook or Physical Book?
Physical Book. 100%
Paperback or Hardback?
Hardback.
Online or In-Store Book Shopping?
In-store… unless I’m on a budget (because I’m incapable of walking out of a book store with less than an armful of new books)
Trilogies or Series?
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
(please don’t make me pick)
Heroes or Villains?
Heroes… unless the Villain is the protagonist… but then… sometimes…. ummmmm
Next question?
A Book You Want Everyone to Read?
Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake.
Recommend an Underrated Book?
(ANNA DRESSED IN BLOOOOODDDDDDD) Beyond the Rising Tide by Sarah Beard
The Last Book You Finished?
Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas
The Last Book You Bought?
180 Seconds by Jessica Park
Weirdest Thing You’ve Used as a Bookmark?
Gas receipt? A Pen? I don’t know…
Used Books: Yes or No?
Yes.
Top Three Favorite Genres?
Young Adult, Fantasy, Paranormal/Magic/Mythology
Borrow or Buy?
Buy: Books that I love and want to own
Borrow: Books that I’m not sure about/don’t want to invest in quite yet
Characters or Plot?
It really depends on the book, TBH…
Long or Short Books?
Again, depends on the type of book… but I’ll go with long.
Long or Short Chapters?
Short.
Name the First Three Books You Think of…
Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco
The Forbidden Wish by Jessica Khoury
Fear the Drowning Deep by Sarah Glenn Marsh
Books that Make You Laugh or Cry?
A Short History of the Girl Next Door by Jared Reck
A Midsummer’s Nightmare by Kody Keplinger
Our World or Fictional Worlds?
Our World
Audiobooks: Yes or No?
Yes!!!!!!
Do You Ever Judge a Book by its Cover?
More than I’d like to admit…
Book to Movie or Book to TV Adaptations?
Movie.
A Movie or TV-Show You Preferred to its Book?
The City of Bones movie. I know it’s widely disliked, but I liked it so much more than the book.
Series or Standalones?
Series… but not companion novels. I hate when companion novels are terrible and mess up the first book.
Phew. Some of those were hard.
But there you have it! My rapid-fire book tag answers.

I agree with you on the physical books! I love physical books but I do find myself reading digital arcs more!

I honestly can’t remember the last time I read an e-book! I just like physical ones so much more.

I do too, but for the purpose of ARCs and new releases NetGalley has been a great resource for me.

I haven’t joined netgalley yet…. I probably should at some point, but I need to get back in the habit of reading e-books first!

Yea…the only ebooks I read are the galleys. Mostly because I have a great indie near me and I want to continue to support them.

I think we all secretly judge books by their cover XD
ALSO Yay for short chapters! Most people that I’ve seen prefer short chapters and I agree 100%

I disagree about companion novels—I love them! I like spending time in the same setting and seeing the characters from the other books make cameos!

I love it in some books, like this series by Caitlyn Duffy (the first one is The Rockstars Daughter… I think) and it worked out amazingly. Then sometimes, I can’t stand it and feel like the characters come off really badly (like the What the Spell series… *shudders*). Sadly I’ve run into more bad companion novels than good ones, but I’m always keeping an eye out!

The City of Bones movie was great, I thought. It was the first experience I had with the Shadowhunters, and I thought it was really good. I definitely need to rewatch it, because I think I gave it so much flack in the beginning. Wonderful answers, Em! 🙂

Thank you! The City of Bones movie was my first experience with the Shadowhunters too… I’m not sure if that’s why I liked it so much? But that probably has something to do with it!
