It’s been a long time coming since I’ve seen your face… LIFE UPDATE!! (spoiler alert: I got a dog!!!)

Challenge: name the song from the title in the comments!!

Hey guys! Long time no write. As you’ve probably noticed, I tend to go on sudden hiatuses only to resurface a few months later trying to get back into the swing of things. So here we go again.

In all truthfulness, I’m really not going to be around for the next three weeks. I’m taking an accelerated EMT course, which means that I will have absolutely no time for anything in the next three weeks except for sleeping, eating, and STUDYING LIKE HELL (also going to classes from 8-5 every day an hour away from my house…. so yeah).

Anyway, I just wanted to check in and let you know that I have not forgotten you lovely people! I also have read a whole bunch of books that I promise I’ll review as soon as my course is over and I have some time to breathe.

Also!!!!! In some other exciting news!!!!

I got a dog!!!!

His name is Rossi (criminal minds anyone?) and he’s perfect and I love him so much. Here are some pictures of the little cheese doodle:

He is 4 years old and the sweetest thing on this planet! He loves playing fetch and sticking his head out of the car window. We’ve been having so much fun together and he fell asleep with his head in my lap today and it made me die from cuteness overload!

Anyway, I also decided to start a YouTube channel because I decided to take a gap year (woah, I know right?) before going to college which is where all of this EMT stuff comes in. I’m going to be an EMT this year as I try to figure out what I want to do with my life. YAYYYYYYY

So, if you want to check out my YouTube channel it would mean the world to me! I’ll embed my first (and only) two videos below! And although I haven’t talked about books yet, there will definitely be a bunch of videos about books in there eventually.

Seeing as I have this crazy course coming up, I won’t have time to blog hop for the next three weeks, that being said, I will definitely be going on a blog hopping spree when it is over, so please leave me links in the comments! I want to know what all of you have been up to while I’ve been missing!

Thanks for reading!

Author Q & A- Arielle Lynn

Today I had the pleasure of Interviewing Arielle Lynn. She is a writer, yogi, and all around amazing person. Arielle is currently working with on her debut novel, which is based in Nazi Germany. Read the Q&A below.

Q: How long have you been writing?

A: For fun, since middle school. I’ve only been seriously writing with the intent to publish for about three years now 🙂 it took a lot of time to work past the self doubt that came along with it.

Q: What inspires your writing? Do you have a muse?

A: It sounds funny, but what inspires my writing are the characters in my head. They all have a story that needs to be told, and they’re very adamant about that. 😉

Q: You work as a Yoga teacher. Tell me a bit about that. How long have you been practicing yoga?

A: I’ve been practicing yoga for eight years now, teaching for three. I actually found yoga on accident. I’d signed up for volleyball my Freshman year in high school, and they put me down for yoga instead. Happiest mistake ever.

Q: You said that you accidentally were signed up for yoga instead of volleyball. Did you ever pursue volleyball after that?

A: Nope! Volleyball was just an easy gym credit. I’ve never really been too interested in it 🙂

Q: What is your favorite book, and what do you like about it?

A: That’s such a loaded question haha. I think right now, my favorite book is A Mountain Between Us by Charles Martin. The characterization in that book is genius. The way the characters interact is so raw, so real that you really come to know them. His story telling skills are amazing, and I cried more than once, but really it’s the characters I fell in love with.

Q: You call yourself a cat lady. How many cats do you have? How do you feel about dogs?

A: I have 2 cats myself, though I just gave 2 of mine to my mom after she had to put hers down. I like dogs! I have one myself: a golden/German mix, but I love my cats more haha.

Q: What does it mean to be a free spirit? Why do you call yourself one?

A: I think it means something different for everyone. For me, being a free spirit means just letting myself go. Not holding myself to any stereotype or standard. I’m allowed to have off days, and I’m allowed to have rock star days. It means listening to what my ‘spirit’ , ‘soul’ , ‘light’ , whatever you want to call it, is saying. Truly listening. Sometimes logic tells you to spend the weekend at home cleaning, but your soul needs to take a camping trip.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

A: If I could travel anywhere, I think I’d go to Germany. My current WIP takes place in WW2 Nazi Germany, and the history lingering around that country would be such an inspiration for me.

Q: What is your favorite season of the year? Why?

A: Fall, easily. Rainy days are my absolute favorite. My house has a lot of windows, so the sound just fills the room and creates this amazing, relaxing atmosphere. Plus, hoodies and boots. Everything is cozy in the fall.

Q: Is there anything else about yourself that you want the world to know?

A: If you’re on the cusp of doing something, DO IT. Take the leap. Once I got over the fear of the unknown, my life improved exponentially. After working through the self-doubt, my co-author and I are 40,000 words into our debut novel. After embracing the unexpected, I’ve landed into a career that gives me nothing but happiness. I wish the same for every single person reading this blog post. And to you writing it as well.

We’re meant to live, thrive. Not just sit around, worry about our next paycheck and which bill we need to pay first.
