Love. Obsession. Jealousy. Murder.

No one knows what happened to pop icon Eric Thorn. His Twitter account? Frozen. His cell phone? Cracked and bloody, buried in the snow.

Agoraphobic fangirl Tessa Hart knows the truth, but she’s finally left her #EricThornObsessed days behind. She has no intention of ever touching her Twitter app again. But Snapchat… That’s safer, right?

After months of living under the radar, Tessa emerges from hiding, forced to face the deadly consequences of her past. But in the interrogation room, answers only lead to more questions in the pulse-pounding conclusion to the Follow Me Back duology.

Last year I had the amazing opportunity to read an ARC of the first half of this Duology, Follow Me Back (be sure to read my review here!) Ever since I tore through that book in a day, I’ve been dying to know what happens next. Did Eric really die? Did Tessa do it?

I am thrilled to report that Tell Me No Lies did not let me down: it was every bit as heart pounding and fast paced as the first book.

What I liked:

Just like the first book, Tell Me No Lies included police reports, DMs, and other online forms of communicating (like snapchat!) to tell the story. That not only added to the suspense and intrigue, but it made the story feel like it had such a fast pace. I seriously did not want to put this book down. If it weren’t for actually risking missing a class I might have read the whole thing in one sitting.

I really liked Tessa and Eric. They both were so true to themselves and were very unique characters. Yeah, they both have flaws… but I like them so much anyway, and that is how you know that they are well written characters. Despite me never being nearly as paranoid as Eric or dealing with anxiety and agoraphobia like Tessa, I was able to sympathize with their characters and understand where their fears and motivations were coming from.

The story line itself was incredible. There were so many small details. So many questions and mysteries swirling around. So many high stakes moments piling up that made my heart race. At one point I was literally screaming “Come on! You need to go ______ and ________!!!!!!!” (not gonna spoil… but you get the point) at the book.

This story just had me gripped from the first page to the last. It was really something incredible.

What I didn’t like:

Not gonna lie. There were a few things in this book that were kiiiiinda hard to believe. As in I see where the author was coming from… but it’s just a little too far out there for me to get on board with. I don’t want to give anything away, so I’m not going to be able to give specific examples (this book’s plot is just so woven together that saying anything might ruin the mystery).

3

I also didn’t love some of the side characters. Again, I can’t say too much without giving some of the mystery away… (don’t you just love spoiler free reviews of mystery books?) but lets just say that some of the side characters were solely there to throw you off the scent (which they do very well), but their being there creates some of the situations that are just “too out there to believe.”

Overall:

Overall this book was amazing. My “complaints” about this book really didn’t bother me that much, and I loved reading Tell Me No Lies from beginning to end.

I would definitely recommend this duology (gotta read Follow Me Back first!) to anyone looking for a fast paced mystery! This is one you don’t want to miss!

I am going to give Tell Me No Lies four out of five hearts.

Tessa Hart’s world feels very small. Confined to her bedroom with agoraphobia, her one escape is the online fandom for pop sensation Eric Thorn. When he tweets to his fans, it’s like his speaking directly to her…

Eric Thorn is frightened by his obsessive fans. They take their devotion way too far. It doesn’t help that his PR team keeps posting to encourage their fantasies.

When a fellow pop star is murdered at the hands of a fan, Eric knows he has to do something to shatter his online image fast—like take down one of his top Twitter followers. But Eric’s plan to troll @TessaHeartsEric unexpectedly evolves into an online relationship deeper than either could have imagined. And when the two arrange to meet IRL, what should have made for the world’s best episode of Catfish takes a deadly turn…

I might have just found one of my new favorite books. Follow Me Back was AMAZING!!! I received an ARC in exchange for a review in the mail yesterday, and considering I’m in the middle of two other books, my plan was to read the first few sentences and put it on the shelf to read next. AND THEN I COULD NOT STOP READING. Literally I could not put the book down. I didn’t do anything until I finished it. I just sat there and read and read and OMG look who’s fangirling now.

The story is told in two narratives; a police interview, and back story. There was so much mystery and secrecy. I just had to know what was going to happen next the whole time. The whole book was fast paced and exciting.

The characters themselves were surprisingly relatable and likeable. It was easy to sympathize with Eric and to like Tessa. Their conversations were so cute, and despite everything else going on around them and in their lives, they had each other. What I liked most about that was how they got to that point. Their initial conversation was actually super believable, as was its progression. It just seemed organic and natural.

I just really loved everything about this book. I loved the characters and the plot. I loved the writing and the presentation. I loved the mystery and action and suspense and the danger. I would recommend this book to literally anyone who likes amazing books because that is what this is.

If I could give Follow Me Back more than five hearts, I would, but five seems to be the limit, so five hearts it is.

Seriously though. Go preorder this book!! You do not want to miss this!!
