Totally Should’ve Book Tag

totally

Hi guys! Today I have a fun book tag that I saw over on Kat’s blog, KatReadsALot! The tag was created by Emma from Emmmabooks on YouTube. You can see the tag video here.

So here we go!

69313561. Totally Should’ve Gotten a Sequel

It was pretty hard to think of a book that needs a sequel. Most novels are tied up pretty well, so they could use one, but don’t really need one.

I decided to go with The Duff by Kody Keplinger because I absolutely adore the story and the characters, and I would love to see more of them!

8524702. Totally Should’ve Gotten a Spin-Off Series

This one was easy. The Gallagher Girls books are amazing and action pact. Oh, and it takes place in a girls school for spies. Not to mention there is a boys school for spies.

See where I’m going with this? Lots of awesome spin-off potential!

jjj3. An Author Who Totally Should Write More Books

Another easy one. I just finished Beyond the Rising Tide by Sarah Beard, and OH MY GOSH it was amazing! Sarah Beard has one more published book that I’m going to read as soon as I can get my hands on it, but I really hope she comes out with more books fast.

And mean a lot more books. Like a million of them.

27670524. A Character Who Totally Should’ve Ended Up With Someone Else

I stand by my belief that Katniss should’ve ended up with Gale. I mean, I get why she ended up with Peeta, but I’m not too happy about it.

I guess the romance between Katniss and Peeta just never felt real to me.

125072145. Totally Should’ve Ended Differently

I’m not hating on Girl of Nightmares, because the book was amazing and the ending actually fit in perfectly. I just wish it ended differently… more happily I guess.

I also kind of wish this book had another sequel. Maybe that would make up for how sad I was at the end.

45874926. Totally Should’ve Had A Movie Franchise

These movies would be badass. I would love to see I Am The Weapon come to the big screen. It would be amazing, like the mash up of James Bond and Jason Bourne in the very capable body of a teenager.

I don’t know why this isn’t happening. It needs to. Get a producer on the line right now.

182493157. Totally Should’ve Had A TV Show

Those Girls would make an amazingly addicting melodrama. It is full of backstabbing and revenge and hormonal teenagers. Seriously it would be amazing to watch. It could totally be the next O.C.

Do you still have the producer on the line? Don’t hang up yet. This needs to happen too.

 256711528. Totally Should’ve Had A Cover Change

Honestly Pale Highway’s cover just doesn’t do it for me. The book itself was good, but I never would have picked it for myself just because of the cover.

There could be a whole lot more going on here, and instead it’s just kind of ‘blah’.

399999. Totally Should’ve Kept The Original Cover

I don’t have one specific pick for this one. My pick is more of a genre really: books turned into movies. Just like when they changed the cover for The Boy In The Striped Pajamas to feature a still from the movie.

I hate when they re-release books with new covers that feature the actors in the movie. That really gets on my nerves, especially when the movie doesn’t do the book justice.

946048710. Totally Should’ve Stopped at Book 1

Now,  I haven’t actually read the sequels of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children quite yet, but I don’t know if I really want to. I feel like the book could’ve been wrapped up very nicely at the end of book one, and they left it with a cliffhanger just so there was room to write more.

Then again,  I might end up loving the sequels, so who really knows.

That’s it for this book tag! Do you agree with my choices? What books would you choose? Let me know in the comments!

April Book Wrap Up

I’ve been seeing book wrap ups all over the web, so I decided to join the club. This month has been pretty productive, especially considering I had my final exams in seven subjects (and passed them all!). I somehow managed to read 8 books in between my studying and am happy to report that I liked almost all of them.

I won’t go into depth about the books, but I’ll give you my rating and some quick thoughts on them. To read the full reviews click on the title.

TBR Book Tag

book-692575_1920

Hi everyone! I saw the TBR (to be read) book tag over on Book  Boodle and decided to do it. It looks like so much fun!

How do you keep track of your TBR pile?

A couple different ways. I have a few lists over on Goodreads to try and keep track of the ever growing list. Right now I have a pile of hard copy books in my room and a bunch of books in my Kindle and iBooks libraries. I guess I just pick whatever stands out to me when I’m searching for a new book to read on the list.

Is your TBR mostly print or eBook?

It’s probably and equal mix of both. I like reading hard copy more, but they are so much harder to get. So, whenever I find myself at Barnes & Noble I pick up 4 or 5 books and when I finish those I switch over to eBooks, until I end up back at the book store again.

How do you decide which book from your TBR to read next?

I think it really depends on my mood. When it’s time for me to pick a new book I usually spend an hour staring at the different covers and reading the backs of the books, until one jumps out at me.

Unless I am reading a really good series. Then the next book to read is a no brainer!

What book has been on your TBR the longest?

9460487Hmm. That’s a hard one to answer. It’s probably Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (which I have been trying to get to since I saw it in the book store a few years ago. I have a paper back on my books shelf waiting to be read right now).

18805623The Tenderness of Thieves has also been on my TBR for quite some time. It’s hidden somewhere under a pile of other books in my room, so when I go for a new book I usually miss it.

What books have you recently added to your TBR?

The most recent book I’ve added is Martini Henry. Naomi Mantin (the senior press officer for Trans World Books) was kind enough to send me a copy to read! I can’t wait to start it.

What book is strictly on your TBR because of the cover?

To be honest, most of them are. Unless they are huge best sellers that everyone I know has 22510983read and loved, I pick my books by their covers. When I go to Barnes & Noble (which is totally my favorite store) I walk around the book shelved for hours, picking up any books whose cover catches my eye. Then I 13597728narrow it down by reading the back cover and a random page in the middle of the book.

That being said, there are few books that just have AMAZING cover art (even more amazing than the others), such as Girl Online by Zoe Sugg and Asylum by Madeline Roux.

What is a book in your TBR that you never planned on reading?

All of them really. Like I said before, when I go book shopping, I just let the books speak to me. I tend to stay away from the main stream “best seller” books in the front of the store and wander into the back shelves of the novel section. I always end up finding something amazing to read.

What books on your TBR has everyone read but you?

Not that many. I do get my fair share of popular books in. Those are usually the eBooks I read. However, I do keep meaning to read To Kill a Mockingbird, which I never end up doing. I’ll get to it one day.

What is a book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you?

That’s kind of a tricky question for me. I tend not to read books just because people recommend them. The last time I did, I read The Fault in Our Stars. To be honest I didn’t really like the book, and decided just to stick to my gut after that.

What book on your TBR are you dying to read?

23207027All of them really. Being as picky as I am, if there was a book I wasn’t 100% psyched to read, it probably wouldn’t be on my list.

But Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake is probably highest on my list. It’s coming out in September of 2016, and I can’t wait! Kendare Blake is one of my absolute favorite authors, and the synopsis of the book sounds amazing. If it is anywhere near as good as her other books, I will probably end up reading it a lot more than once!

How many books are on your Goodreads TBR?

22 right now, but that’s only a part of my whole list. If I added in the hard copies and eBooks I would probably be closer to 50-70 books. It might sound like a lot, but I know people with TBR’s of 500-700 books (I have no idea how the find the time!).

Thanks for taking the time to read! If you decide to use this tag, feel free to add a link to your post in the comments. I would love to read your answers!
